Co-production Forum

As part of our efforts to strengthen the European film industry, the European Producers Club (EPC) regularly organises Co-Production Forums aimed at fostering closer cooperation among key players in the film industry both in Europe and the rest of the world. These events take place in some of the most prominent film markets in Europe.

The EPC has successfully organised 46 Co-Production Forums, involving over 3,600 participants since December 2002.

In 2010, 83 projects from 16 European countries were presented at EPC forums and our goal to provide a suitable number of meetings for each project was well met, since 415 meetings were set up that year. Selected projects included some award-winning directors such as Peter Greenaway, Aleksandr Sokurov, Agnieszka Holland and Renny Harlin. Some award-winning films presented at our forums include Il Divo by Paolo Sorrentino, and Lemon Tree by Eran Riklis.

Our Co-Production Forums are organised around a maximum of 40 selected projects in their development phase and last for one day. The selected projects are presented in the Forum Catalogue.

Individual meetings are pre-arranged by the Co-Production Forum team in close collaboration with the selected producers, giving producers the opportunity to meet with strategic partners for their specific project. Thanks to this “à la carte” formula, producers generally meet with up to ten potential co-production partners, film financiers, sales agents and/or distributors.

The team also provides continuous support throughout the year, not just at each forum. The selected projects are also posted on the European Cinema Network, an online network for European film professionals launched by the EPC in 2008.

For 2009, the EPC has decided to expand the forums with the inclusion of special consultants. These consultants, selected according to a different theme such as co-production, international sales, financing, and regional funding, will be available to provide precise, up-to-date information on relevant subjects during each Forum.
