Founded in 2007, Frakas Productions is a Belgian production company based in Liège, producing mainly feature films and that is very active in international coproductions.
Frakas Productions and its young directors cast a critical and sharp glance at our society through powerful and ambitious subjects. It has produced films such as David Lambert’s BEYOND THE WALLS (Critics Week, Cannes 2012) & ALL YOURS, Delphine Noels’s POST PARTUM or Marta Bergman’s ALONE AT MY WEDDING (ACID, Cannes 2018). International coproductions include films such as Katell Quillévéré’s HEAL THE LIVING (2016), Julia Ducournau’s RAW (Critics Week, Cannes 2016), Jaume Balaguero’s MUSE (2017), Kyoshi Kurosawa’s DAGUERROTYPE (2017), Michaël R. Roskam’s RACER AND THE JAILBIRD, Lukas Dhont’s GIRL (Golden Camera, Cannes 2018), Lorcan Finnegan ‘s VIVARIUM (Critics Week, Cannes 2019), Mati Diop’s ATLANTICS (Grand Prize, Cannes 2019).
Frakas is currently coproducing Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s EARWIG , Antoine Barraud’s MADELEINE COLLINS and Arthur Harari’s ONODA. Current majority feature films in post-production include Banu Akseki’s SANS SOLEIL, Christophe Hermans’ LA RUCHE, Giordano Gederlini’s BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH and Fabrice Du Welz’s INEXORABLE.
Jean-Yves Roubin, its founder and manager, is also the president of UPFF – the Belgian Producers’ Guild (French speaking part).
