Company Profile

Nord-Ouest is a partnership between three producers: Christophe Rossignon (who previously produced the first three long feature films of Mathieu Kassovitz and Tran Anh Hung in Lazennec company), Philip Boëffard and Pierre Guyard.

In 2001, Nord-Ouest released Christian Carion debut feature film, THE GIRL FROM PARIS. The success of the film (more than 2.4 Million admissions, sold in above 20 countries) put the company on the map for both ambitious and popular talent-driven film production. A few years later, their second collaboration MERRY CHRISTMAS (16 M€ budget, coproduction between 5 European countries and released in about 35 countries) installed Nord-Ouest as one of the leading European independant producers and won numerous prizes and nominations (César, Oscars, Golden Globes, Bafta) following a Cannes screening. Since 2001, Nord-Ouest has produced almost 40 films for a total audience of twenty million, each of them sold to an average of 15 countries.

Nord-Ouest has developed lasting relationships with authors such as Philippe Lioret (THE LIGHT, DON’T WORRY I’M FINE, WELCOME), Michel Ocelot (AZUR AND ASMAR –THE PRINCES QUEST, TALES OF THE NIGHT, DILILI IN PARIS), Vincent Garenq (BABY LOVE, GUILTY, CLEARSTREAM AFFAIR), Mathieu Kassovitz (REBELLION) or Christian Carion (FAREWELL, COME WHAT MAY, MY SON). Yet, it has never lost its ability to discover new talents, such as Thomas Cailley with LOVE AT FIRST FIGHT (409 676 admissions in France, sold in 35 countries and won 3 Cesar awards, including Best Debut Film and Best Actress) and Mikhaël Hers (THIS SUMMER FEELING, AMANDA), nor to engage in new collaborations, with the likes of Stéphane Brizé (THE MEASURE OF A MAN (Best Actor at Cannes 2015 and at Cesar 2016 for Vincent Lindon) and AT WAR which competed for Cannes Palme d’Or in 2018) and Safy Nebbou with IN THE FORESTS OF SIBERIA.

Nord-Ouest has been involved in documentary film production since its creation (Sylvie Randonneix) and has recently started a TV production branch (Quitterie Gausserès). Its development slate expands to a large array of TV films and series, questioning the world through entertaining stories with deep author inputs. Projects include TRUE CRIME describing 30 years of cold cases inquiries in France, a fantasy ecological thriller, a thriller about international illegal wildlife trade, which have already built interest from distributors and broadcasters (Canal+, etc).
