Company Profile
Founded in 2009 Pinball London produces narrative and documentary features, tv series, animation and live action shorts, as well as ancillary content for non-traditional screens, and starting in 2022 video games. We love strong voices and disruptive storytellers across all genres. We have worked with established talent such as Sally Potter, Emir Kusturica, Guillermo Arriaga and with solid upcoming directors. We have launched most of our award winning international coproductions in major festivals including Sundance, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, San Sebastian and New York Film Festival. We are proudly connected to some of the most celebrated talent around the world and have worked with filmmakers from over 15 countries distributing our content worldwide. We are members of BAFTA and the European Film Academy. To date over, the company has won over sixty international awards including three Lions at Venice.
In 2019 we achieved 50/50 gender parity in our slate and continue to support female filmmakers via mentorship programs. We pride ourselves on our European and International links. We provide development services and consultancy around scriptwriting, rough cuts, social impact campaign strategies, and training on implicit bias, gender and production.
Among some of our work we can highlight LISTEN, the most awarded film at Venice film festival 2020, winner of two Lions and four independent awards. SUMERCE, a social impact documentary feature by Colombian director Victoria Solano. Or earlier work such as our executive produced film Ginger and Rosa directed by Sally Potter, UNCLE HOWARD, executive produced by Jim Jarmusch, and released at Sundance and Berlinale and to 70+ festivals worldwide. Our TV series NA MLIJECNOM PUTU (2018) by twice Palme d’Or winner Emir Kusturica, as well as the film ON THE MILKY ROAD, starring Monica Bellucci (Venice 2016; Young Jury Award Lion winner), and OUR LIFE, part of Guillermo Arriaga’s omnibus project WORDS WITH GODS (Venice premiere 2014), directed by Mira Nair, Bahman Ghobadi, Amos Gitai, Warwick Thornton, Hideo Nakata, Hector Babenco, Alex de la Iglesia and Arriaga himself.
We support EPC’s Green and Gender Charters and are members of BAFTA, PACT, Creative Industries Federation UK, DPA (Documentary Producers Alliance), DAE (Documentary Association of Europe), and the European Film Academy.

UNCLE HOWARD is an intertwining tale of past and present. New York filmmaker Howard Brookner died of AIDS in 1989, while making his breakthrough Hollywood movie. His body of work, which captured the late 70s and early 80s cultural revolution, was buried in William S. Burroughs’ bunker for 30 years. Now in a personal journey, his nephew Aaron unearths Howard’s filmmaking legacy and the memory of everything he was.
