Company Profile
Proton Cinema is a Budapest based, independent film production company that was founded by producer Viktória Petrányi and director Kornél Mundruczó, who have been friends and co-creators since university.
The company was launched after the founders first feature successes that brought together a well-working team, and gained several international prizes ever since. Over the years, numerous works of the company have been premiered and showcased at A- category international festivals.
Besides their own works, as of 2008, Proton also provides production services. Committed to deliver various production stages that best meets our clients‘ expectations, we are carefully select crew-members for each different project. We respect artistic freedom to the greatest extent while creating the ideal professional environment for filmaking.
Besides production activities Proton Cinema is also dedicated to support the latest generation of filmmakers. We often participate in projects that experiment with the combination of motion picture and other arts. The company is devoted to provide opportunities for creators who wish to see the world and to let the world be seen.

WHITE GOD 2014

The film tells the tale of an eternal friendship between a girl and a dog in a world where ancestry can decide on life or death. According to Hungarian regulation, every dog, but genuine Hungarian breeds, is subject to special taxation. Loads of dogs are turned out of doors.
The 13 year old Lili is fighting to protect her pet, Hagen, in vain. Trying to spot each other Lili and Hagen are cruising along the gloomy streets of Budapest. After several heartbreaking experiences, the desperate Hagen understands that people are not dogs’best friends. No wonder he joins a gang of stray dogs.
Not finding any trace of Hagen, Lili puts up with her faith. She enjoys the company of her peers. Having no chance to survive the homeless dogs find their freedom in a revolt against mankind. Their revenge is merciless. As soon as Lili perceives the jarring barks of dogs, she remembers everything and realizes, she is the only one who can halt the war.
