Anita Juka

Anita Juka is the founder of 4Film, a prominent European production company with over 30 films and 20 international co-productions. Her work features bold, director-driven projects that have premiered at the world’s most prestigious film festivals and achieved global distribution. Notable titles include Beautiful Evening, Beautiful Day, directed by Ivona Juka, which was the official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards® and was nominated for the Goya Award, presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain. Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth, and Cleopatra Coleman, premiered at Sundance 2023 and Berlinale 2023, and was distributed by NEON/Topic, Universal Studios, and Focus Features. It received 11 Canadian Screen Award nominations, including for Best Picture and Best Director. In 2022, she co-produced two feature films—Emin Alper’s Burning Days and Maksym Nakonechnyi’s Butterfly Vision—that premiered in the Cannes Un Certain Regard section, garnering international acclaim and multiple awards. Her earlier production, You Carry Me, directed by Ivona Juka, premiered at Karlovy Vary, was invited to more than 20 international festivals, won 17 awards, and was Croatia’s official entry for the 88th Academy Awards® for Best Foreign Language Film. It also became the first film from Croatia and the wider region to be acquired by Netflix for global distribution.
Beyond producing, Anita has contributed actively to the European film community. She has served on international juries nine times, including Warsaw, Finale Plzeň, Filmschoolfest Munich, Transilvania, and Istanbul. Currently she is President of jury of European Solidarity Fund for Ukrainian Films.
She often lectures as a guest speaker at international film programs, including the Erich Pommer Institute and eQuinoxe Europe, sharing her expertise with the next generation of filmmakers. In 2019, she was named one of Europe’s 20 best emerging producers in the European Film Promotion’s Producers on the Move program.
Anita served on the European Film Academy’s Executive Board from 2021 to 2022, and in 2025, she was elected to the Executive Board of the European Producers Club. She is also a member of the European Film Academy, the European Producers Club, the Croatian Filmmakers Association, and the Producers Guild of America.
