Established in 2003 ARTBOX is now one of the leading film production companies in the Baltic region. ARTBOX works with new talents as well as experienced artists. Productions and coproductions with the wide international appeal are the main goals of the company. Films produced by ARTBOX have been screened and won awards in numerous international film festivals.
Kestutis Drazdauskas was born in Vilnius in 1970. In 1994 he graduated from Vilnius University with Master of Arts in English language and literature. In 1995 he started working in film industry as an assistant director. In 1998 he started producing and since then he is one of the most active producers in Lithuania. Since 2003 he runs his own company ARTBOX which produced many fiction and documentary films and hundreds of commercials.
Kestutis Drazdauskas chairs the Board of Independent Producers Association and National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries, chairs the Supervisory Board of Vilnius Film Office, is a Board Member of Film Policy Council and Lithuanian Film Academy. He was one of the founders of Vilnius Film Cluster which unites more than 20 companies of Lithuanian audiovisual industry. The organization lobbied for the establishment of tax incentive for film production in Lithuania, which is in effect since January 1, 2014.
Recently he co-produced a Dutch-Canadian-Italian film Tulipani: Love, Honour and A Bicycle, a Latvian-Lithuanian-Polish co-production Foam At The Mouth and line produced an International Emmy nominated TV mini-series Tokyo Trial. Also, in 2018 he shot the feature film The Castle which is the first co-production between Lithuania and Ireland. The film will be released in 2019.
