Company Profile
Founded in 2013 by Félize Frappier, Azimut Films (formerly Max Films Media) produces films of every genre with a strong cinematic signature that touch on complex, contemporary and relevant topics. Works produced to date include CORBO by Mathieu Denis (TIFF 2014 Discovery, Canada’s Top Ten, Berlinale Generation, Goa), VILLE-MARIE by Guy Édoin (TIFF 2015 Special Presentation, Rome, Tallinn, Beijing) and KUESSIPAN, directed by Myriam Verreault, who co-wrote the screenplay with Innu author Naomi Fontaine based on the latter’s eponymous novel (TIFF 2019, Göteborg, Namur, FIFDH, Tromsø, MOOOV, Annonay). Azimut’s most recent titles are FRONTIERS by Guy Édoin, and LUCY GRIZZLI SOPHIE, due for release in 2024, directed by Anne Émond based on actor/playwright Catherine-Anne Toupin’s adaptation of her stage play, LA MEUTE (MOB in English). Azimut Films has made a name for itself promoting stories that deserve to be told, as thought-provoking as they are entertaining.
