Copper Alley Productions is an award winning film and television production company founded in 2015 and based in Dublin, Ireland. We develop and produce short and feature length films and TV drama and are committed to developing Irish and European creative screen talent.

The company is led by Creative Producer, Lara Hickey who has a strong background in the development of creative talent in theatre and the arts. She has produced three award winning short films, CYNTHIA, by Jack Hickey, BAINNE by Jack Reynor and starring Will Poulter, a Screen Ireland/Sky Arts co-production and ALGORITHM by Edwina Casey. She is also co-creative director of X-POLLINATOR with co-director and founder Katie Holly of Blinder Films, an initiative funded by Screen Ireland, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and Creative Europe. She is a member Irish Film and Television Academy, European Women’s Audiovisual Network and Screen Producers Ireland.

James Hickey, who had just completed 8 years (2011 to 2019) as CEO of Screen Ireland, joined the company as Chair in September 2019. While at Screen Ireland, he oversaw the funding of Award winning films including BROOKLYN, ROOM, THE LOBSTER, SONG OF THE SEA and the TV series Normal People. Prior to becoming CEO of Screen Ireland in 2011, James was a leading media and entertainment lawyer at Matheson (formerly Matheson Ormsby Prentice) working on many Irish feature films since the 1990s. James is a member of the European Film Academy and is on the Film and TV Drama Committee of Screen Producers Ireland.

Produced by Emer O’Shea and Lara Hickey for Anabasis Films in association with Sky Arts and Screen Ireland, the film is set in the last year of the Great Famine in Ireland. A grieving farmhand’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a ghostly thief and he is led on a journey of hope.
