Founded in 2008 and based in Trieste (Italy), Pilgrim is a film production company that develops and produces internationally oriented films and documentaries.
Pilgrim has produced auteur-driven films that have been selected and awarded at major international festivals. Among these are Easy (2017) by Andrea Magnani, an Italy–Ukraine co-production that captivated audiences in Locarno and earned two David di Donatello Award nominations; Paradise (2029) by Davide Del Degan, Italian Golden Globe for Best Debut Film; and Jailbird, Andrea Magnani’s second feature (2022), selected in competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and Torino Film Festival.
In 2022, the company co-produced Peacock Lament by Sri Lankan director Sanjeewa Pushpakumara, which premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival, where it received the Best Artistic Contribution Award. More recently, it took part in the production of Yohanna (2024) by Razka Ertanto, selected in competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and winner of five Indonesian Film Awards.

Isidoro, nicknamed “Easy,” is a former go-kart champion whose life has stalled after a period of depression and weight gain. Calogero is an ordinary Sicilian man who makes an extraordinary choice: after witnessing a Mafia murder, he reports the killer and is placed in witness protection. Given a new identity, he is sent to Sauris, a remote Alpine village where everything feels foreign—snow, language, and even the food. But he’s not the only one starting a new life there: the killer, now repentant, ends up in Sauris as well due to a judicial error. Convinced he must be there to kill him, Calogero lives in fear and confusion. Through a series of misunderstandings and with the unexpected warmth of the locals, the two men gradually form an unlikely bond… one that will last until the end.
