FALLING  2020

Genre:             Drama

Director:         Viggo Mortensen

Screenplay:     Viggo Mortensen

Cast:                Lance Henriksen, Viggo Mortensen, Laura Linney

Falling is the first directorial work by the much beloved Viggo Mortensen. In this very personal work we not only follow the strained relationship between a rural father and his modern son, who has married his boyfriend and the couple has adopted a daughter from South America. But the meeting of the two in Los Angeles because of a medical condition unleashes not only two different sets of male values: the strong, silent macho type and the wake, modern man. It also triggers the memories of both characters of living on a farm in the 60ties, watching a marriage fall apart, the wish to leave and still being connected to the earth, the animals and the seasons.
