Company Profile
Prokino is one of the leading independent distribution companies in Germany.
We are looking for promising projects by new talents as well as auteur films that cross over to wider audiences.
Titles like ‘‘AMÉLIE’’ (Jean-Pierre Jeunet), ‘‘GOMORRA’’( Matteo Garrone),‘‘WELCOME TO THE STICKS’’ (Dany Boon), ‘‘SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE’’ (Danny Boyle), “SHAME” (Steve McQueen), and, most recently, ‘‘MR. TURNER’’ (Mike Leigh), ‘‘WILD TALES’’ (Damian Szifron) and ‘‘AMY’’ (Asif Kapadia) speak about our choice of directors and the diversity of our line-up.
Our production department has a long tradition in German as well as European feature films.
In terms of national productions we are prepared to invest in promising projects by new talents such as our current co-production ‘‘10 BILLION – WHAT`S ON YOUR PLATE?’’ (second feature documentary by journalist-turned-director Valentin Thurn) if we believe that they will be well received internationally.
Prokino also appears as a financial partner, such as we recently co-financed the Swedish Movie ‘‘HEAVEN ON EARTH’’ (Kay Pollak).
