Company Profile
Saga Film was founded by film director and producer Hubert Toint in 1987. Over the past 37 years, Saga Film has produced and/or co-produced more than 100 feature films, TV films and TV series. Saga Film’s strength is rooted in our in-house experience, international relations and award-winning projects. Saga Film is well-established in the market of high-quality independent content and, since 1987, has been defending a committed cinema, with socio-political notes, full of emotions and talent. In 2022, Flavia Biurrun joined the company as producer and co-head of development.
At its foundation, the company’s editorial line was immediately dedicated to an ongoing search for originality, artistic discoveries and the creation of an international co-production network. In French-speaking Belgium, only a few companies can claim such a catalog of successful productions over the span of thirty seven years: since Marie by Marian Handwerker (1993), Saga Film has achieved an impressive track record of awards, such as the César for Best First Film for When Pigs Have Wings; the César and Venice awards for Darwin's Nightmare; the Tribeca award for Best Actress and five César awards for Lady Chatterley; and the Official Selection of I Am a Soldier at the Cannes Film Festival, among the other numerous films selected and awarded in film festivals around the world.
