C’E’ ANCORA DOMANI

Format: Film

Genre: Dramedy

Director: Paola Cortellesi

Screenplay: Paola Cortellesi, Furio Andreotti, Giulia Calenda

Delia (Paola Cortellesi) is Ivano's wife, the mother of three children. Wife, mother. These are the roles that define her and that is enough for her. We are in the second half of the 1940s and this ordinary family lives in a Rome torn between the positive push of liberation and the miseries of the war just behind them. Ivano (Valerio Mastandrea) is the supreme head and master of the family, he works hard to bring in the little money at home and never misses an opportunity to emphasize this, sometimes in scornful tones, other times, directly with the belt. He has respect only for his rogue father, Sor Ottorino (Giorgio Colangeli), a livid and despotic old man whose caregiver Delia is for all intents and purposes. Delia's only relief is her friend Marisa (Emanuela Fanelli), with whom she shares moments of levity and a few intimate confidences. It is springtime and the whole family is in turmoil over the impending engagement of the beloved first-born Marcella (Romana Maggiora Vergano), who, for her part, only hopes to marry quickly to a good middle-class boy, Giulio (Francesco Centorame), and finally get rid of that awkward family. Delia, too, asks for nothing more; she accepts the life she has been given, and a good marriage for her daughter is all she aspires to. The arrival of a mysterious letter, however, will ignite her courage to overturn her predetermined plans and imagine a better future, not only for her.

THE GOOD MOTHERS

Format: 8x50 min

Genre: Drama

Director: Julian Jarrold & Elisa Amoruso

Screenplay: Based on journalist Alex Perry's Foreign Press Association award-winning bestseller of the same name, and adapted for the screen by Stephen Butchard

Based on a true story, The Good Mothers traces the stories of Denise, daughter of Lea Garofalo, Maria Concetta Cacciola and Giuseppina Pesce, three women who dare to stand up against the 'ndrangheta. Helping them is P.M. Anna Colace who, as soon as she arrives in Calabria, has an intuition: in order to bring down the 'ndrangheta clans, it is necessary to target women.
It is a strategy that carries great risks: the 'ndrangheta is known and feared for its iron fist and insidious power. The Good Mothers follows Denise, Giuseppina, and Maria Concetta as they attempt to free themselves from criminal power and cooperate with justice.
